Will Fred get Newts blessing?

The buzz now is that in late September, after Fred formally announces--- yes I think we are all groaning a bit about having to wait till September--- Newt will give his blessings to Fred. For those of us who hold Newt, father of the Contract with America, in such high regard, this is a good buzz to hear. It would seem the most logical ichoice. One of Newt's top people, Rich Galen, is now on the Fred Team.
Should you like to read more, The Politico has an article about this.

I for one think this is great positive and only adds credibiltiy to conservative credentials.

Go Fred!--but announce already!

I think Newt knows he wouldn't have a snowball's chance in the primary or in a general. Way too much baggage and far too many enemies in both parties and in the MSM. But he would make one holy heckova good Secretary of State or Defense in a Thompson-Giuliani Administration, don't you think?

I really like the idea of Newt in a Thompson administration, but I would really prefer not to have Guiliani as Veep-- way to liberal for me.

Guiliani IS a liberal, no doubt about it. But as VP he would be virtually harmless, unless, of course, something happened to FDT. But Rudy is fiscally conservative, strong on the prosecution of the war against the thugs and murderers of radical Islam and tough on domestic crime. Plus he would soften Mrs. Bill Clinton's base of strength in New York and maybe pull in some Dems who might otherwise vote for the Dem ticket.
I hate Giuliani's liberal attitudes toward abortion, homosexuality and marriage. But as a practical matter I think he would help FDT win the White House.
