Ready for Fred Video

This is a great Fred video made by some Cincinnatians. Enjoy!

Survey says......

Here is an interesting report from Rasmussen. It says that:

Twenty-two percent (22%) of Americans say they will definitely vote for him if he's on the ballot in 2008. Thirty percent (30%) will definitely vote against him. That net deficit of eight percentage points (22% for minus 30% against) is better than all other candidates in the race except for Barack Obama.

I say that is pretty good considering he hasn't even announced yet! To quote Fred Barnes on Fox News, "he is running the best non-campaign, campaign ever."

I think he has the opportunity to win over those that came out early for Guiliani because they remembered him from 9-11 (now that they found out how liberal he is), the McCainites (since McCain couldn't get a 4yr old girl excited about her own birthday), and even those who were leaning toward Romney (since we have all have that gnawing feeling about someone who sees the light right before a major campaign).

Fred is the talk of the town!

What has the whole country buzzing?

Fred Thompson seems to be getting closer and closer to announcing his candidacy.

There was a conference call with his "First Day Founders" and the New York Times is talking about his move toward a run for the president.

The Washington Post is discussing Fred's campaign committee. But probably the biggest indicator is that "Thompson is leaving Law & Order"!

The speculation is that he will announce over July 4 weekend. We will see. I just hope it is soon!

How do I find information on Fred?

I have been asked by some of the people who responded to the blog via e-mail where to find information on Fred? Here are a few, (but for sure not the only) websites to find information.

This one summarizes his stance on the issues. http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Fred_Thompson.htm

The following is the transcript of an interview between Thompson and Chris Wallace:

When will Fred announce?

Rumors have Fred Thompson making his announcement sometime around July 4 week. I, for one, can't wait and I hear the same from my other conservative friends. Before I heard that he was considering a run, I was very discouraged about the future of the Republican Party. There was no one I could get fired up about supporting.

Guiliani= way too socially liberal (though I do think he would be tough on terror, I could probably support him for Sec. of Defense).
McCain= washed up and capitulates too much to the Dems.
Romney= I have a hard time trusting a recent pro-life convert (though I would hope it is true) and a Republican who can get elected in Massachusetts of all places.
Newt= I love Newt, but he has too much baggage.
Huckabee, Brownback & Hunter- good guys but none have a shot.

Who are the others now??? Couldn't name the others if I tried, which speaks for itself.

Would I vote for another nominated candidate? Probably, especially considering the alternative, but as for me, I wouldn't sacrifice the time and energy that I did to get Bush elected over Kerry.
